Eclipse Chaser
(noun) - Anyone that wants to see a total solar eclipse. |
Scientific Age - March 1925
This drawing illustrates a simpler way of producing artificial eclipses by the use of an occulting or eclipse disc, proposed to Professor Todd by Major R.W. Schroeder.
As less than sixty total eclipses take place in a century, and the photographing of eclipses is often prevented by unfavorable weather conditions, the study of the sun's heat radiation, gaseous prominences, chemical composition and other phenomena has been slow and uncertain. This drawing shows one of Professor Todd's ways of producing artificial total eclipses to secure photographs of the sun's corona.
