Sun, Moon, and Stars - Part 1 - During the years around the turn of the millenium I almost only photographed with my old Polaroid Automatic 103 Land Camera, because with it I was able to make use of the 3000 ASA Polaroid 667 black-and-white instant film. Switching the camera to the fixed aperture for the recommended 100 ASA color instant film allowed me to take snapshots in candlelight, and this gave me the idea to photograph the total lunar eclipse on the 9th of January 2001 without putting up a tripod or holding my breath in fear of blurring.
At that time I already had made a series of Polaroid-triptychs named "Sun, Moon, and Stars" which showed those celestial bodies, and I after I had photographed the lunar eclipse I thought about a final triptych with eclipses. So I decided to take my old Land Camera to Landless Corner in Zambia, Africa.
