Original Orbiter - The International Space Station as a window looking out onto Earth, while itself it seems to be orbiting Mars: Oceans and deserts, liquids and solids, life and death. Whatever opposites you may think of, they attract each other, an effect that is called gravity and keeps things in orbit.
The photograph of the Earth is the famous "Blue Marble" shot taken by the crew of Apollo 17 on the 7th of December 1972 while on their way to the moon and the full view of Mars is a mosaic made from data collected by the Viking Orbiter and courtesy of Calvin J. Hamilton. The silhouette of the projected final stage of the ISS was produced using a picture included in a NASA press kit from the early days of the mission.
