African Blimp Ride - Composite made out of an unknown photographer's blimp shot and my first photograph ever taken in Africa. Our group just had arrived at the Victoria Falls Safari Lodge and we gathered happily on the terrace, drinking beer in large gulps to make our ears pop after the long distance flight. Staring out into the distance of the Zambezi National Park I spotted my first elephant in the wild and immediately captured it on Land film.
Zimbabwe has been one of the very few places in the world blessed with two successive total solar eclipses in 2001 and 2002, otherwise the country has been not too lucky. Elephants may still be listed under the international rules of conservation, but the human population is not protected by anything anymore and has fallen prey to the despotism and terror of a corrupt regime.
