Solar Eclipse Chasing Cartoons

Cultural Show: Sometimes the performance artists do not clearly understand the instructions (rehearsals are recommended). When weapons of any type are involved, tragedy could be the result.

Prepared: The single best telescope ever built for solar eclipses is the Questar. The view is amazing, photography outstanding, and portability. Add easy to store and you have a great tool to have handy should a solar eclipse take place.

Live Feed: A live feed of a total solar eclipse is NOTHING like being there.

Civilized Chasing: Chasing eclipses means going where the shadow falls. Most of the time it is at sea, over remote mountain ranges, and in a distant land. It is a very different experience when chasing in a modern country.

Chasers Running: The name eclipse chasers implies running or chasing after something. In actuality one wants to be set up in advance of the event and not rushing in at the last second. The exception is when trying to get out from under weather and one never knows how that will work out.

Wind direction: Packing lots of equipment and not enough clean clothing is normal for advanced eclipse chasers.

In the shade: Being in the shade may be nice and comfortable during the partial phases, but certainly not during the total portion of the eclipse.

Set up error: Mixing eclipse ravers and eclipse chasers is never a good idea. The ravers have no real interest in the eclipse, it is just an excuse to party and they will be doing the same thing next week at another location for another reason. The eclipse chasers on the other hand will have to wait a while for another total solar eclipse. They occur on average about every 15-18 months. Make sure you set up with the right group of like minded people.
